Matte lips

There are some trends that no matter how hard I try I just cant get on board with. matte lips are one of those trends. Its not that I don't like to look of a matte lip but it just doesn't work for me.

So why isn't this trend my friend?

• I have really dry skin including lips and because of this it is very hard for me to get my lips into a state that is anywhere near ready for a matte formula.

• I have not found a single matte lip formula that doesn't make my lips ridiculously sore. Even products that people swear are super comfortable make my lips so sore I want to scream within about an hour.

• I find matte formulas being so dry on the lips end up looking awful as they cling to my dry patches.

• The lipsticks/ liquid lipsticks in my opinion crumble in the middle of the lip and look rubbish and when you try and reapply them the go on weird. 

I must have tried at least 10 different matte formulas and so far I haven't found anything that convinces me that matte is the way forward for me. I would love to wear matte lips but it doesn't seam meant to be.

Before someone tells me all I need to do is exfoliate and apply a little balm under the lipstick, I've tried that and for me it still doesn't work. 

I think we need to remember that every trend doesn't work for everyone.
