Today’s Makeup - Smashbox Double Exposure

I have a lot of eyeshadow palettes, I mean a lot, around 30. It is a crazy amount I know but they have always called to me. 

In the spirit of my no buy I am trying to go through some of my neglected palettes to see what I have been missing today I tried the Smashbox Double Exposure Palette. 

I have had this one a while and bought it as I love it’s big sister the Full Exposure Palette. I do really enjoy the Smashbox eyeshadow formula, I never really hear people talking about it and I don’t really understand why. 

This one has a really nice mixture of cool and warm tones that makes it very versatile. 

I think what draws me to the Full Exposure is all the beautiful glittery shades and I think the fact that this palette doesn’t have those shades is what makes me pass. That and the fact that the colours are very muted. 

Every time I have reached for this palette I have liked my look but it has never made me go wow 😮 

I am the first to admit I reach for warm or sparkly tones first or preferably warm sparkly tones so maybe this one isn’t for me but I’m determined to give it a try. 

Today I thought I would go for those colours I would normally ignore and tried these 3. 

I like my eyeshadow today it’s kind of a demure sultry look. Nothing crazy. Nothing stand out. Very office appropriate. But a bit different. 

I have mauve in the crease temper in the crease and the outer corner and peony on the lid. What I really like is water changes the texture of the shadow so I popped some setting spray on my brush and placed some peony in the middle of my lid and it made it much more vivid. The same colour but with more intensity makes the eye look interesting. 

I’m not up for putting up a photo as I can’t take pictures of my makeup well. Sorry 

What I can say though is I’m going to try and reach for this more. Maybe even tomorrow.
