Kiko Universal Fit Hydrating Foundation Review
I bought this as part of my birthday haul and have tried it about 5 times now so I feel I am ready to give my opinion on this foundation. It costs £6.90 and can be found HERE.
I had seen this foundation on the Kiko website and I liked the look of it as its formulated for dry skin which I most definitely have. I have found it impossible to find a drug store foundation that works for my dry yellow toned skin so I approached this with hope but I wasn't expecting much,
When I went into Kiko I was approached by the manager to see if I needed any help and I asked them to help my find the right shade for me and if they thought this foundation would smooth out skin texture as I just wanted something light but with a better colour match than a BB cream. She was really wishy washey and told me it wouln't smooth the appearance of my skin as it was very dewy. Not sure what she meant by that but I decided to try it anyway. She told me the foundation was very warm and she guessed that my shade was WB15.
Firstly I was very impressed that it really is warm toned, I have massive struggles with beauty counters telling me they are giving me warm toned foundation and when I put it on its pink. The shade is a touch too dark for me at the moment but I think it will be fine as my skin darkens over spring and summer.
Coverage wise I would say this is light to medium coverage. The foundation is very thin but because of this it feels very lightweight on the skin. It gave me enough coverage to even out my skin tone but it wouldn't cover spots or anything particularly pigmented. This is fine for me as I have been looking for something cheap and comfortable to wear in the day so I can leave my expensive foundation for nice events.
I like the look of this foundation it is very dewy and stayed put for the whole day with my usual primer. I really liked that it didn't sink into any of my fine lines or cling to any of my dry spots. I haven't noticed that my skin is any more hydrated but it doesn't look dry when I wear this. When I take it off it also doesn't make my skin feel like all the moisture has been sucked out of it like many foundations do.
What didn't I like. Like I said the colour is a touch off, it is very warm so if you are neutral/warm this might be too yellow for you. Also it wasn't the easiest foundation to blend or build up coverage. I used my Beauty Blender and I got there but it wasn't as easy as when I use my Nars Sheer Glow, it is about a 5th of the price though.
All in all I really like this as an every day base. It smooths things out enough that I feel I can wear other makeup with it. It makes me feel like I am put together enough to go to work or out with my family.
For £6.90 I will buy it again as a summer foundation.
Love
Kay
