Are you a lipgloss girl?

Are you a lipgloss kind of girl or do you think lip gloss is not your friend. 

Whenever I talk to other ladies about lip gloss it seems to be such a polarising product. Some women love the glossy look and the very unique feeling of lipgloss on the lips. Others hate it with a passion, finding the traditionally sticky texture frustrating, or feeling lipgloss isn't something that goes with their makeup look. I also had one woman I know tell me that lipgloss wasn't suitable for anyone over 25, that it was aging and only meant for youngsters. 

I have a complicated relationship with lipgloss, I want to love it more often than not end up just not liking it that much. That's not to say I don't wear it, I do but only under certain circumstances. 

I hate the way my hair sticks to lipgloss and so will only wear it when my hair is up. I see so many bloggers layering multiple lip products on wearing a liner, two types of lipstick then a gloss on top. That's really not for me. I hate wearing lipgloss over lipstick. Not because I don't like the effect I do, but because staining the lipgloss applicator with the colour of the lipstick drives me to distraction. I do it sometimes but with great reluctance. The other thing I hate about lipgloss is how sheer it is, why can't it be more opaque.  I have a draw full of lipgloss that ultimately looks virtually identical on my lips. I don't really know why I bothered buying so many.
