The Ordinary High-Adherence Silicone Primer 1st Impressions
I have used this primer 3 times, so feel though I haven't used it enough to do a really in depth love it or hate it review, I do have enough experience with it to share my first impressions with you.
I love Wayne Goss from YouTube and he recommended this primer a while ago, and its taken me ages to finally sort my life out and try it.
I think I was reluctant to try this because I have 2 primers that I really love. The Smashbox Photo Finish primer and the Rimmel Fix and Perfect primer. These cover off my need for a really nice high end primer and a more affordable day to day option.
When ordering some skin care, and the new foundation, I decided to just bung it in my basket and I am really happy that I did.
I have really dry skin and love a nice smooth silicone primer, as I feel it helps foundation smooth over my dry bits and helps disguise texture on my skin. I chose this primer out of the two options from The Ordinary because it is silicone based.
Its a white liquid and it feels like silicone, very similar to my Rimmel one but somehow thinner. It isn't as slick feeling as the Smashbox primer. I have to admit when I put it on my hand I wasn't sure if I would like it. I spread it on to my face and still wasn't sure. It didn't seem to have the same blurring and smoothing affect as my normal primers.
I then put on my foundation, which went on very well over it. In fact once my foundation was on I had to concede that my skin looked just as nice as when I use my Smashbox primer.
Throughout the day I kept checking on my face waiting to see if my skin began to look dry, if my foundation was fading or looking cakey.
Nothing, my skin stayed perfect all day!!! When it came time to remove my makeup I used a make up wipe just to see how much foundation was still there. I couldn't believe how much colour had stayed on my skin, it was like I had only just applied my foundation.
I don't know how The Ordinary have done it but they might have just beat my Smashbox primer, I thought that was my ultimate holy grail, go to, always safe product. They have done it for £3.90 too.
Its unreal.
I am going to get my oily skined sister to give this primer a go and really test it to its limit.
Have you tried this yet?
Love
Kay
