Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Review

I bought this a while ago as it was on offer in Savers for a couple of pounds but you can normally get it for £4.99.

I have heard about this mascara a while ago and people used to rave about it, but I never got around to giving it a try. As it was on offer I thought why not give it a whirl.

Now I got the colour Very Black and I have to say that the name is right it is very black. It definitely made my lashes look significantly blacker. Unfortunately that's pretty much all that I liked about this.

I think when it comes to makeup products things aren't necessarily bad so much as aimed at someone else. If something doesn't work for you then it might be because it was formulated with someone else's skin type, lash type, preferences is mind. I certainly love some products that other people hate because they either suit me or because I like the effect that someone else may hate.

Mascara in particular is impossible to get right for everyone, probably because we all like such different effects.

This one just wasn't for me.

For starters I hate the brush, this is my absolute worst nightmare for a mascara brush, this type of wand does nothing for me.

I found the formula very wet, something that I know some people absolutely love, but I like a much drier formulation. Because it was wet I felt like it got all over me, I had it on my face, when I sneezed it transferred under my eyes, it was a nightmare.

When I wore this mascara, about 4 times, my lashes seemed so much more sparse, today when I wore it to give it a final go, I swear my left eye looked like I had about 3 lashes. The clumpy look isn't for me and unfortunately I don't have the fullest of lashes so this product does not suit my tastes.

Lets be really honest this is a very affordable mascara so if you like a wet formula and this type of brush I would encourage you to give it a go, you don't have much to loose.

If a wet formula isn't for you and the sight of that type of brush gives sends you cold then do yourself a favour and give it a pass.
